Roberta Anne Kilfillen

Roberta Anne Kilfillen
Surrounded by her loving family, the death of Roberta Anne (Morell) Kilfillen of Hardwood Ridge, NB, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Friday, May 15, 2009.

Roberta was the eldest daughter of the late Frank H. and Marjorie (Taylor) Morell of Minto. She was born on January 27, 1942 and lived her entire life in Minto.

Roberta was a 1960 graduate of MMHS and maintained a close friendship with many of those in her graduating class.
She was for many years a kindergarten teacher in Minto, and was a devoted member of St. Michael & All Angels Church.

Despite many health challenges over several years, and particularly the last months, Roberta maintained her positive outlook and was an inspiration to her family and friends. She was a devoted, supportive and loving wife, mother, sister and a self-described “board-game” grandmother because of the many hours she spent with her grandsons, and will be greatly missed.

Roberta Anne was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Garnet, in 2005, as well as by her parents and youngest brother, Hugh. Her loved and devoted children also survive her – Jeffrey (Linda) Kilfillen, of Minto; Elizabeth (Carson) Curtis and their son, Marshall, of Grey Rapids; Elaine Kilfillen, of Fredericton; Frank Kilfillen and his son, Nicholas, of Hardwood Ridge.

Roberta is also survived by three sisters – Janet (Calvin) Drost, Ruth (Eldon) Barton and Mary (Alvin) Scribner, of Minto; and two brothers – Richard (Frances) Morell of Mississauga, ON and Alton Morell, Minto, NB; one aunt – Constance Taylor Findley, Winnipeg; her mother-in-law, Marie Kilfillen and sister-in-law, Myrtle Roy, of Minto; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Minto Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. Funeral services will take place at St Michael & All Angels Anglican Church, Newcastle Bridge, NB on Wednesday May 20th, 2009 at 2:00PM, with Rev. Philip Pain officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

The family suggests, if you so wish, that memorial donations to St. Michael & All Angels Building Fund would be appreciated.
