Obituary of Brenda Joyce Bushell

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Brenda Joyce Bushell, 64, of Newcastle Creek on November 12, 2023. Brenda was predeceased by her husband, Christopher John Bushell, on August 3, 2020.

Brenda was born on September 12, 1959 in Waterloo, Ontario to parents Raymond & Gladys Knechtel. Brenda married Christopher on June 12, 1982 and they had four children - Gregory Bushell, Sean Bushell, Pamela Dunville (Bushell), and Timothy Bushell.

Brenda is survived by parents, Raymond & Gladys; siblings, Sharon, Doris (Larry, predeceased), Maynard (Brenda), and Christine (Paul); children, Greg (Julie), Sean, Pam (Matthew), and Tim; and grandchildren, Jade, Annastasia, and Evangeline. Brenda was predeceased by siblings, Dennis (Nettie) and Donald.

The name Brenda means "torch," and she lived up to every bit of that meaning. Brenda was a fiery, unstoppable force. She and her husband spent their entire married lives helping people and considering the welfare of others above their own. From feeding the homeless, to volunteering at shelters, to traveling across Canada to spread the good news of Jesus Christ - they did it all and more. After Chris' passing in 2020, Brenda continued to dedicate her life to helping people, including several trips back home to Ontario to look after family members. Brenda was the type of person who would give you the shirt off her back or her last dime without even thinking about it. Brenda has left a legacy of love that will live on through her children and grandchildren.

A celebration of life service for close friends and family of the deceased will be held at the United Baptist Church of Minto, 124 Pleasant Dr, Minto, NB on December 8th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the church directly.
