Joyce Frost

Obituary of Joyce Frost

We are sad to announce the passing of Joyce Frost (nee Flowers) on January 2, 2024 at Neill Hall
Fredericton. Joyce was the wife of the late Joe Frost and the eldest daughter of the late Charles Flowers
“Toppy” and Ethel Hoyt.
A prolific crocheter and knitter, donating many items to local homeless charities, Joyce volunteered
extensively throughout her life – giving back to the community. The family have been proud recipients
of many of her handmade projects. A Bingo “professional”, with travel to many locations outside
Fredericton to practice her skills, Joyce particularly enjoyed the friendship and warm welcome always
received at St. Mary’s Entertainment Centre – which was one of her last outings before her passing.
Besides her husband and parents, Joyce was predeceased by her brothers John Flowers (Marie) and
Everett Hoyt and sisters Carol Martin (Frank) and Patricia Flowers.
Joyce was Aunt/Guardian to her niece Megan Marten and Grandmother to Megan’s daughters Lanaya
and Summer.
Joyce is also survived by her brother Charles Flowers (Jan) of Fredericton and sisters Janet Flowers of
Fredericton, Pamela Hagy of Rhode Island, and Linda Therrien of Edmundston.
She will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews most particularly Karen Martin and Kim and
Stephen Flowers who provided care and support to Joyce, especially during this past year as her health
began to decline.
The family would like to thank the staff at Shannex, Neill Hall for their kindness, friendship, support and
encouragement to Joyce during her stay and for the support and compassion to the family during this
past difficult week.
At Joyce’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Hogg’s Funeral and Cremation Services
has been entrusted with the final arrangements. Memorial donations in Joyce’s memory may be made
to NB Lung or another charity of choice. Online condolences and memories may be forwarded to www.hoggfunerals.ca
