Obituary of Julienne Valentine Arsenault

With sadness, the family wishes to announce the peaceful passing of Julienne Valentine Arsenault (“Julie”) at the Moncton City Hospital on April 5, 2024. Julie, born February 14, 1942, in Saint John, NB, was the eldest daughter of the late Eddie Thebeau and Dorina Daigle and mother, Alminnie Barrieau, who passed away when Julie was very young.

In addition to her parents, Julie was predeceased by her husband Butch in 2007, and an infant sister.

Julie will be lovingly remembered by her siblings: August Thebeau of Moncton, Raymond Thebeau (Bev) of Chipman, Minnie Bourque of Ontario, Rita Finlayson (James) of Riverview, Leon Thebeau (Brenda) of Memramcook, Eva Cormier (Raymond) of Moncton, Therese Quimper (Daniel) of Shediac, Euclide Thebeau (Linda) of Saint Paul, Pauline Thebeau of Moncton, Vincent Thebeau (Tony) of Puerto Rico, a special nephew and niece, Daryl and Heather Arsenault, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Julie spent her early years in Moncton where she enjoyed working at the Hynes Restaurant. She later met Butch, and they made their home in Minto, NB where she enjoyed many years of taking care of children in her home. Julie loved and cared for these children like they were her own. After a period of declining health, Julie moved back to Moncton where she could be cared for by the staff of the Moncton Residence and where she could be closer to her family.

Julie’s family wishes to extend a most sincere thank you to the staff and management of the Moncton Residence for the care she received while being a resident there.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the MEMS or MMHS Breakfast programs or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Funeral service for Julie will take place on 11:00AM Wednesday, May 1st , 2024 in the Chapel of Hogg Funeral and Cremation Services, Main Street Minto.
